This is a report from Chris Meredith from his recent time in Kenya.

Paul Wood and I returned from Kenya on Monday after spending 8 days travelling to and from Kisumu to various parts of the western province. Suffice to say we both have a huge amount to process, and there are many threads informing our time with our Kenyan friends -I will attempt to pick through these as succinctly as I am able. Part of me is reluctant to write yet another report full of the language of transition, but I am reminded that if the prophetic is not a challenge to the status quo, if it is not heavenly authority turning the tides, then it’s not much use to a creation which groans. So i write one unashamedly.

Newcastle-upon-Tyne is the largest and most strategic city in the NE region. Surrounded by the towns of Tyneside with its many and varied people groups it is undoubtedly a field “white unto harvest”. This small prayer team was invited to the region at a strategic time, with the mission strategy well underway for both J John’s visit and Hope 08. Our goal in prayer is to help in preparing the ground for such mission by letting the Spirit lead in prayer, to identify past sins and strongholds that would blind people and hinder the effectiveness of the gospel and to “build up, build up the highway and remove the obstacles from out of the way of My people”( Isa 62v10).
