Vaihingen: 26-28 September

Vaihingen is near Stuttgart in Germany and I have been there now on a number of occasions. I believe this was a very strategic time and that the weekend was used to catalyse an acceleration of what will take place there.

On the first evening I said at the beginning of the evening that if we got a breakthrough that it might be possible to release what could take place over the next 15 months. In my heart I hoped that we might get there by the Sunday morning, but was not convinced about that.

However, the shift took place that first night and within a short while I was able to prophesy the changes. I say this knowing that when that level of prophecy occurs it indicates an openness and a hunger for the things of God.

Palma is awesome (yes a little relief!), compact yet so diverse with a different feel on almost every street. We both loved the area Santa Catalina – a little rough around the edges but with heart – amazing also to discover the upside down root-out-all-evil church at the Santa Catalina gate into the city.

Yesterday I had a picture of our area of the city being like a young woman with leprosy, real pain and disfigurement, covered over with bandages and yet more bandages. Today I discovered on the net there was a hospital for lepers ‘located outside the walls, near the gate of Santa Catalina.’ ‘Lepers, the poor of Christ, could beg here at a safe distance from town residents.’ So much to discover and dig into!

What do you see? Martin spent quite some time wondering about the meaning of ‘cahouses’ and the relevance of them being ‘major’… Hmmmm.

Here is a link to a page concerning the device to root out all evil …In days when the Western world is having its economics shaken (and I do think it is significant that this is now 7 years on from the Twin Towers – which they too were 12 years on from the Berlin wall), and the debt basis of Western culture means that there will be a turning of the world in another orientation the need for the church to be turned upside down is so necessary.

For some time I have been blogging and talking about the economic shaking that is here. The end of the last century being the taking down of the communist economic system, and the first years of this century being the coming down of capitalism.

Jubilee economics – now there’s a wild thought.

What do you see? We have seen this image in Palma de Mallorca a few times and called it the ‘upside down house’. Walking the streets with Roger and Sue Mitchell, when we came round the corner to see this he stopped short and came out with an exclamation…

A short time earlier this same image had been sent to him from Canada. It is by a Canadian sculptor and is a church (building) turned upside down and is called the device to root out all evil.

How cool is that? And how profound / prophetic… And it is on the gate into the city – the gate of Santa Catalina… the place where Gayle and I will look to rent.

Maybe the Lord is in all this…

God leads…

The theme of ‘journey’ has become the most central way of describing our faith for many people. This is of course understandable, as we are people of the way.

We are here in Mallorca, with the hope of securing a property for Kyel and Rachel. Today they sign papers on a 3 bedroom apartment in an area called Marratxi. This was the area where they first sensed they were being led to back in May. So by the end of next month they will be living out here, joined by Hannah Poole. There was a really good connection with the owner, both at a friendship level and also prophetically. The agent who did the deal has suggested that he and the owner become the first people round for a barbecue. Anotehr small sign of a connection.

Gayle and I are looking to an area in the centre of Palma, Santa Catalina. Just felt good – a little run down in places, quite earthy. We have a sense that it is a type of area where we might be able to connect – with of course the small aspect of becoming fluent in Spanish!! We will probably look to secure a place in December.

Banks and Bognor

What a week – yes the momentous days over the banking / finance world. I was reading an article in the Times that suggested there has been an inevitable shift of power at this time from the dominant western nations (empires?).We also had great days in Bognor Regis. This being my 8th visit there in the context of praying into the town.

It is always a privilege to come here as those who are involved have dug in so deep both to the reality of God and also into the land. I always leave encouraged and refreshed. It also seems appropriate that this is probably the last set of prayer days that I will have in the UK for some time. A good place to end and to bring that aspect of 10 years work to an end.

Our main focus was into macro events such as mentioned in the first paragraph, and then pushing in to where they were affecting the local. A strong thrust was that of economic regeneration.  In that context I felt I was gaining a little more insight to a previous pattern.

Taking responsibility is where it all begins – taking responsibility for what we find in the ‘gates’. This draws an anointing to the gates (this was the new asperesourcesct- I had only seen it as an anointing to the one taking responsibility before this), and this will draw connections there in order that the resources are released.

The other key aspect to the days took place Friday morning. We struggled to connect and then it became clear that it was time to change the ‘time-line’ over Bognor and the church. Grace was now coming to an end for the places where the victim spirit had ruled and repentance had been made, but no blessing had flowed from there… that we understood as being the response of a child, now Bognor was no longer to speak as a child, etc.

A very key aspect in the victim / wounding scenario is that wherever there has been wounding there is a corresponding level of authority to release blessing. This we had felt had not been done in some situations in Bognor opening the place to groups who would willingly allow the child to be cut in two rather than the child survive (Solomon’s situation that he had to rule over in a time of famine).

It will be most interesting to see what takes place now… but there will be extraordinary grace for transition at this point. Conflict too will come as the change takes effect, as church / town is provoked to a more mature level.

Gayle and I are now with 5 others in Mallorca where our hope is that some property can be obtained. Another phase in the way forward into the unknown. By the end of the week I hope to give an update on that just before we go to Germany for a weekend in Vaihingen.

Economics

Seems really strange but since the end of last year the most central thing the Lord has been speaking about to me is that of economics. In Feb in the UK was the largest earthquake in 24 years. In a place called Market Rasen. At the time I said this carried a 2-fold significance: there is a market being razed and there is another market being raised.

So now we have an unfolding almost day by day: Lehman, AIG, HBOS…. It is almost reminiscent of 89 and the dramatic events with the collapse of the eastern bloc.

Yesterday someone pointed out to me that this is 7 years on from the twin towers – 7 being a very significant time factor in scripture. And the twin towers being 12 years on from the Berlin Wall (both occuring on their respective 9/11: the European and US dating systems).

I read yesterday that HBOS (a very ‘sound’ business) had a gap between what it owed by way of obligations and what it had by way of resources of some 200bn GBP. At a private level we would call that debt and insolvency. At the banking level this is apparently a ‘sound business’!! The debt issue is a pack of cards under any description.

So where does this take us? I think into a very challenging time. a time when we have to look to the Lord to teach us many new things. I do believe it is time for the prophetic to speak into th economic realm, to speak to specific businesses, to gain access at fresh levels to those who are open, for there to be direction and prayer into the release of finances to the poor of the world. There is coming an opportunity to see released large sums of money to the marginalised. What could become a blockage to this would be fear and a resultant lack of pressing in to occupy the space, thus allowing for some major reconfiguration of major economic institutions.

I do believe there are core structures the Lord desires to comd down, so that we can see something established more akin to a kingdom economic.

Big subject, huge implications, but these are momentous days. Rev. 18 makes a good commentary. I am sure that the current scene is not detached from the prayer concerning the imperial spirit… there will be new waves rolling out into the church.

It is great to be praying into these things here in Bognor Regis. A rich place.

A communication battle

I am just coming to the end of a short visit to the USA, mainly to connect with Ben, Ashley and family (my son & daughter in law). It is always interesting to be outside the UK… while here the US government has taken to underwrite the mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac; Lehamn Brothers (US bank) is in trouble; Hurricane Ike is (as I write) rolling in over the Texas coastline; there has been a fire in the Channel Tunnel; XL tour operator has gone down; Sarah Palin has become the Republican nomination for VP…

The night before I left the UK for here I had a very disturbed night, likewise this current night has been very disturbed. These 10 days (symbolic of a season of testing) have been framed by disturbance. I am sure that this indicates many things. The battle the first night was over communication, and I believe this is continuing with the desire to release fear, misunderstanding and self-protection.

This month is a turning month. I saw a lot of turmoil taking place in the air and this touched down to earth in many places. It was as if the whole atmosphere above the earth had been stirred. If that was our only focus then there would be incredible consternation. However, I saw that for those who were in peace they would find the ground where they could make an investment. I saw them – quietly and almost unseen – taking coins and placing them in the earth underneath the storms and they were finding places of peace to do this: these were places where the atmospheric storm was not touching down to the earth. It seemed like they were being called to sow like Isaac did in a time of famine.

There has been a contending for the wells to be redug, now is a time for sowing. I am not suggesting that this is primarily financial, but am sure that this is included. Protection and provision are the two central tests for the people of God and what they experience over those two issues will shape what is experienced of power and how they handle the power that they experience.

So trying to make sense of this let me suggest the following:

  • in the battle over communication, it is important that we are slow to listen to rumour, slow to come to conclusions over things we hear. We need to be ready to hold judgement over issues where we do not have the facts, or we have distorted facts. Do not be drawn in to make premature judgements.
  • that we realise that we are right now in a season of disturbance but we are not to be disturbed, but to find peace. There is an eye to the storm where we can find peace. In resisting the devil do not let the very warfare of resistance to disturb your own peace.
  • then look for the connections of peace, and without great ado make the connection, gently but deliberately placing our seed into that place / in that direction.

I am sure there is much more personal revelation that can be added to the above, but submit this to you for your consideration, and so that there can be personal and specific applications.

Lakeland…

Hopes rise, hopes go – so it is for many. Revival is round the corner, no it’s not let’s just plod on… I guess in the next few months we will have so many different responses to Lakeland.

Let me quote first a prophet friend who on June 22nd prophesied this (extract below):

Media Revivals have just begun. You have not seen anything yet. Major cities and obscure villages will be a part of My demonstrations in the earth. This is an updating across nations, living rooms and those on the internet. The experiential truths will be the topic of conversations in government buildings, business offices and university campuses. The sick being healed, those in bondage being delivered and the dead raised will infuse believers with faith to do the works of believers. Hope will arise in those needing My miraculous power.

Rory and Wendy Alec [GOD TV] have gone through this gate in 2008, now many will follow. Rory and Wendy the Lord says you did not make a mistake, regardless of the criticisms that will come at by the end of the summer.

God says to His church, I have used the most offensive means to break religious taboos. I will allow men to fail that the nations will look to me not man alone. Do not be a part of vultures that eat upon something once it is dead. If your feet get dirty I will wash them, but you will have seen me.

This September 2008 let my cleansing winds blows over My global church.

I am not trying to defend GOD TV or various events / styles at Lakeland, but wish to try and connect in to what I perceive is taking place. When I posted in the past on Lakeland I did so on the basis of being one voice that can be ‘what do people say’, and on the basis that eventually the Lord asks us directly ‘but what do you say?’

A short rehearsal of what I have posted in the past:

  • Lakeland is opening a window for the supernatural – for a rise of faith.
  • It is a sign that a window is opening, where we can begin to see the miraculous in the Western world at a level alongside that we have seen / read about in the developing world.
  • My fear has been that it will be used by people to strengthen the platform, to re-enforce the centre, and to allow for names to develop.

I think that we now enter a new phase. For those who are sceptics – confirmation; for those who sought signs and power – disillusionment; for those who have longed for a window to open amidst anonymity – fresh levels of expectation in the hidden place.

I always expected what was taking place to have a ‘sting in the tail (tale?)’ but did not expect it to sing round so quick. Now my plea is let’s be encouraged, let’s humbly walk with our neighbours and see God’s presence come to them. When this happens – the story is theirs not ours to promote ourselves.

So here we are in September: let the cleansing winds blow. Let’s also try to cross the lake to not-so-familiar land the other side.

Media: CrossRhythms

CrossRhythms radio station based in Stoke on Trent is a media team that I have been connected with for the past four years or so. It has been a pleasure to come alongside them to encourage them in their vision. I have been most impressed by the continued integrity and hard work of all those involved.

Check them out – and you can also listen to it on the web. CrossRhythms.

They are Christian but have a community focus, and are currently developing the possibility of community radio stations in 10 different cities in the UK. These could be key in collaborating with the Christian community as this media gate is occupied.

Now if I can use the ‘we’ word and not the ‘they’ word… we are looking for partners from 10.00GBP per month up. This will make a huge difference, and I know from my time with them we are seeing an ever better platform for an increased effectiveness.
