2010: from Paul Leader

I believe 2010 will prove to be a major turning point in many situations, and I recently received ‘The sound of the anvil’ from Paul Leader’. I have known Paul for a number of years and he is someone I trust. Here it is as he wrote it….

Hi everyone, here is the sounding out of the anvil for 2010. After releasing part of this on facebook I had feedback that the same thing was heard a few years ago. I asked who said it, and apparently I did!!! At first I was miffed but then after thought I was very chuffed, that is the sounding of the anvil, a repetetive sounding out that will over time shape something for incredible use. So here is what I sense and here for the new year…

2010 will be a significant year of shifting ground that will lead to major exposing and uncovering. It will be a time for open heavens and new wells, and the rediscovery of old wells. His eye will go too and fro through-out the earth seeking and saving what has been lost or misplaced. What has been buried will be uncovered, especially those things that the enemy has tried to keep hidden, this includes truths that have kept the Body of Christ disabled or at a place of powerlessness. There will be signs over the next twelve months such as many major archeological discoveries, and there will be major exposure of secrets behind key political events from major points of history.

There have already been key signs in the earth such as major discoveries of major oil supplies over the last few months. Headline in New York Times read, ‘ Oil Industry Sets a Brisk Pace of New Discoveries.’ The article says the discoveries have taken place in five continents, and have been due to deeper drilling through tougher rocks. There have been more than 200 discoveries this year by the giants and by the minnows. Areas include Irag’s Kurdish region, Australia, Brazil, Norway, Ghana, Russia and the Falkland Islands. I believe the Lord is ready to release fresh deposits of oil through-out the earth. There will be those who have experienced tough valley times that will make the Valley of Baca into a place of pools. These pools will be teaming with fresh deposits of oil. Gushers will spring forth through-out the world at places that have known hardship economically, physically and spiritually. And not just the major western countries either, many minnow countries will flow with fresh oil.

There has also been the discovery of more new species of plants and flowers this year than any other year. They have been growing in seclusion and only now has God allowed their discovery. At this moment there are many hidden moves of God. Many places of creativity that are yet to be unearthed and discovered. This year we will see God at work in many secluded places. God loves a hidden place, many revivals and moves begin in backwater places. Even Christ’s birth is a sign of how hidden births are high on God’s agenda. I believe we will be surprised at what comes out of Eastern Europe and France and Germany, and many small African and South American Nations, towns and villages.

It is time to pick up the staff and declare Moses is dead long live Joshua. The inheritance of land and community is waiting for us. How we did the last season will not fit this season. It is a new day with a blank canvas. It is not only the goal-posts that have been moved but the whole playing field. How we played the game before will not give us victory now!!! It is time to re-write the history books. It is time to venture where we have never been before in ways we have never gone there. This will be a season of new doors and new invitations. many will enter into new Nations for the first time. New jobs, ministry etc. Eyes and spades, site and gardens, look and dig. Get the tent ready for mobility. Static christianity has a sell-by date, it is now time for the Nomadics. It is time for the shape-shifting church and gatherings. Flowing with the contours of the land and community. The rhythm of God beat out.

The race for Christmas number one. This was a sign and very significant in that the corporate machine was beat by the power of the people. The safe sound was beat by a shout, a noise, a cry against the establishment. The Lord spoke to me concerning the sound of his church. It would no longer be enough to worship to the safe sound of the corporate machine. Infact I believe we will see a meltdown this year in the contemporary christian music scene. The corporate machine of endless safeness will begin to crumble. Our sound will not be dictated to by the machine. Major worship ‘stars’ will either lay down their guitars in obedience or will experience difficulties. What will arise will be the sound of the people. Worship will be given back to ordinary people and not controlled by the few. Prophetic sounds will be released by many who have never played an instrument. It will come with an edge. It will seem to be anti-establishment, and will clash with the machine, but in reality it will be establishing something more significant, a people worship movement that restores every member ministering.

Going back to the garden will be significant this season too. A rediscovery of what it means to know God as the Gardener. The garden is a place of creativity. It is a place of origins and firsts. It is a place of rediscovering our true image and identity. It is a place of dominion. It is a place of fruitfulness and creativity. It is a place of filling the earth. It is a place of good food. It is where man becomes a living being. It is a place of relationship and communion with God and one another. It is a place of wild wandering in the cool of the day. It is time for the garden to be revisited.

2010 is a key to the next ten year window to 2020, the year of perfect vision. What we begin to see established now will become foundational for the season ahead. New roads, new paths, new foundations, new vision. A fresh insight into all that God desires for us. Get ready for the year of exposure and uncovering.

Trust this blesses etc. Submitted in love and humility, Paul.

A confession – I never know how to take these kinds of prophecies. But my first reaction is horror at new oil wells. The last thing we need is to be burning more oil. I delight in peak oil – that means we have a chance to deal with climate change. I have figured that peak oil is God’s grace to us. So I can only hope that increased oil supplies (more pollution, more C02 in the air, toxic waste that destroys people, animals and the enviroment) comes with some wisdom on how to care for creation because I am pretty convinced that burning fossil fuels is not one of the ways we care for creation.

Perhaps we require a bit more time in the garden promised at the end, time to dig into the soil, watch plants grow, get to know the land. That I can support wholeheartedly. And if we do that then I think we would be appalled at the thought of pouring fossil fuels (literally or metaphorically) all over the garden.

So that was Cheryl, the environmentalist’s reaction. Cheryl, the nomadic worshipper, also looks forward to a truly revived people who worship in a fresh way. And yes, let’s bury the institutional church for good. Its high time!
Buon Natale (good birth in Italian),

I agree with you Cheryl, the thought of new oil wells does not fill me with excitement but as I read it I felt that oil is perhaps the wrong word. Latvia has suffered terribly economically this year and when I was reading the bit that surprising things would come out of Eastern Europe I felt “yes” that has to be and I think instead of oil it should say fuel. New deposits means that which is created now. There are whole realms of discoveries to be made that utilise the energy from plants, wood waste etc and I believe that will be the new oil not the black stuff.

I am really looking forward to what God is opening up in our planting season for next year and it gives us renewed emphasis for our next few years of experimentation on the land we steward.

Thanks Joanna. I think that is a great interpretation. I think we have barely scratched the potential for new, green, sustainable, and minimally harmful fuels. I find algae particularly fascinating as that is the only non fossil fuel alternative for planes at the moment. And growing the algae is a way to clean up water pollution (the wee celled ones love pollution created by fossil fuels, it makes them grow up big and strong). And yes, yes, to the garden. Gardens require so much faith, every step of the way, they truly are a pilgrimage on the journey to a closer relationship with God.
    Blessings,
    C.

Thanks for publishing this. I woke this morning, and have been feeling it for the last few days, a kind of excitement. I blogged before reading this too, which is a bit exciting!!
It feels like something is changing. It is also so similar to that word a while back on new wells which I felt I’d missed and am so excited to be having a 2nd crack at it.
Also we, as a family, here keep looking at our garden have decided it is time to make it work. Those were the exact words we used yesterday as we started to assemble the chicken run and to work out where we were going to put more vegetable plots. My husband has lived in this house for 10+ years, me for 3, and it has been a real stiring over the last few weeks to want to do something with our land!!!
Though wish I could sleep more instead of wondering what is coming :>

Hi everyone. Just a little note to Cheryl and Joanna (and any other interested party), what I see prophetically is often expressed in the Natural. This is not a comment on the pros and cons of the natural but a personal spiritual understanding. It has often been said, first the natural and then the spiritual. Don’t know if I would write that as a rule but the creation often mirrors or speaks something of the Creators purposes. God has spoken to me through floods and earthquakes, when I then share what I see this is not a comment on the disaster and saying God must have sent it, this is looking to ask, what is creation saying? What is it groaning out at this time? My comment on the oil wells is not to centre on the oil wells or the pros and cons but the voice of God that whispers or shouts through what is happening. The key in the word that was shared was about the uncovering of what was hidden, not to get sidetracked on the earth issue. My words are always looking for the supernatural behind the natural. What is the earth mirroring. Almost that the Creation is a full time allegory speaking to us about something or someone so much bigger than what we see. Hope this helps. Here’s to 2010.

Hi, the idea of nomads and shape shifting gatherings that flows with the contours of the land certainly resonates with me.

A year or two ago a friend of mine destroyed his guitar, and is looking for an indigenous sound to arise in the land.

Hi Paul, I have no doubt that the natural often precedes the spiritual and that is what I was getting at too. I really do believe there will be a new fuel that will precede the new fuel within the church. When I say new I don’t necessarily mean that it will be a new discovery as such (I am tired of the word “new” when really it is often just a perpetuation of materialism or the newest fad) I am looking for sustainable evolution of fuels meaning that deposits will be available that may be locked up now due to the technology not being available to develop the potential of the fuel. It will be the new oil if you like. What I see is not to dispute what you saw but to extend it to more than face value and this is not just a green agenda or anything. Eastern Europe have so much potential locked up in abandoned fields at the moment (I live in Latvia), and my heart has been crying out for proper use of the materials that are already here, there are deposits here that are not the black stuff but have more potential and more gentle on the good earth that God gave us to steward.

Thank you Paul for your response. That was the way I “heard” what you were saying.

Not trying to “hijack” this thread, but I think this discussion around oil and fuel is quite interesting. (I find other parts of the word VERY encouraging/exciting as well) Firstly however, I found it interesting that when I read through the word the first time, I was surprised at the way the parts about “oil” struck me. I grew up in the States in a right-wing evangelical context that was neither anti-capitalist nor particularly “green”. A couple of years ago (maybe not even that long) I would not have thought twice about the discoveries of oil, or perhaps even reacted positively. I might have had the same sentiments of the person that left the track-back above.

This time, however, I felt the dissonance about “fossil fuel burning” and “big oil capitalism”, etc. It wasn’t even a reaction like, “Uh-oh…what’s Cheryl gonna say!?” ;-) I attribute this change in me in no small part to the on-going discussions on this blog. And for that, I’m thankful. Thankful to you Martin for launching and facilitating this discussion place…Thankful to you, Cheryl, and others, for Godly and sometimes pointed provocation that makes me re-consider or consider for the first time the way I think and perspectives from which I view things. The virtual world pales, in my opinion, to real flesh-and-blood interaction, but I appreciate nonetheless the valuable exchange of ideas that happen here.

What I think is interesting here, however, is what does finding “oil” mean…both in the natural and in the spiritual? Does it…must it…mean what we think it has always meant?

What does oil signify in the Bible?
How does oil function in the natural realm?

I think with a word like this, we need to see the strong reactions that are in us as indicators that we need to begin to pose these sorts of questions. First of all simply to “test the word” as we are instructed to do, but also to peal back the pre-conceived notions of what we THINK it might mean vs. what God MIGHT be saying through it.

Finally, since God is the ultimate kinsman-redeemer…since He can redeem ANYTHING…since all of His Creation is GOOD, what SHOULD we do with fossil fuel? Is it only a product of The Fall (since it comes from decay)? Can it still be redeemed? I’ve heard it said that oil serves as an intercontinental lubricant between the tectonic plates to ease the shift and that removing it makes earthquakes potentially more violent and destructive. That may be true. It’s the only reason I’ve ever heard for leaving it in the ground. Other than that, however, is there not a cause for intercession here? “God, stop the mis-use of fossil petroleum AND give us the revelation for correct use of fossil petroleum!” I think we got the “stop” part of the prayer down pat…some do anyway. I don’t hear much on the “give us new revelation” part though.

Our collaboration to bring God’s Kingdom from Heaven to Earth needs to not only be Creation honoring…that is to say “honoring the Natural”. I think our collaboration needs to also always honor the Super-Natural. We need to see more intercession pulling for breakthrough scientific discoveries that demonstrate that there is a God who loves to intervene supernaturally in His Creation…FOR His Creation.

So Lord, if You’re saying that more fossil petroleum is to be discovered, and we know that, in the natural, there can be destructive outcomes in the traditional ways we’ve used that kind of oil, we take that prophetic word, not ONLY as an indication of Your desire to “pour out Holy Oil” in the spirit realm, we also take that as a call to collaborate with You in intercession to call for revelation in how these natural discoveries can be used for Your Life-Giving purposes and for bringing Your Kingdom here on Earth.

I must admit my instincts are close to Cheryl’s.

Re Oil. I am one of those for whom the claim we are finding more oil triggers a despressed ‘oh no’. To use such a negative to metaphorically describe a positive is nigh on impossible for me. The obvious interpretation / response for me, is as a warning of how the love of money is the root of all evil (see the fossil fuel industry), how dishonest humans are when self interest is involved (see the denial industry) and how delusional we are as humans – something Jesus spoke of very powerfully in my view. So it seems to me that if there is anything in this prophecy then it is as a warning.

However, I would question the general statements of the good state of oil discoveries. The International Energy Agency which has historically been at the forefront of calming down worries that we are nearing peak oil, has recently been downgrading their predictions of how much (economic) oil is left. Further other agencies have been pointing out how even this more pessimistic prediction is still almost based on faulty analysis and too optimistic. Add whilstleblowers who claim that the agency has been downplaying these potential problems and this whole idea that plentiful oil is a promise of something good in the future becomes untenable for me.

Jesus said the truth will set you free – sometimes I wonder whether any of us take that very seriously – I include myself.

Thanks Paul, this is a very encouraging word.
I could mention whether I am a person of the Land or not but it will detract from what I think this is all about!
Last year has been quite interesting and when I read the following line “discoveries of oil which have been due to deeper drilling through tougher rocks” it felt like this is what God has been doing to me and a lot of other people the last few months; drilling deeper into the tougher rocks of our hearts and our mindsets in order to release new oils, oil of gladness, oil of healing, oil of deliverance, oil of His presence, oil of love and oil of miracles. This is so exciting!

The “discovery of more new species of plants and flowers this year (2009)” is awesome there is so much more of what God has for us here in the natural but also in the supernatural that we have not yet tapped into or discovered so to have signs of new discovery in the natural is great as it points to there being new discovery in the supernatural also. Come on!

I can’t wait to be surprised by what comes out of the nobodies like me (oops should say the ordinary folks like me!) and some of the nations you have mentioned.
I am a French European but lives in Scotland and I had something about new rhythm, new sounds being heard that follows God’s rhythm for the land and people for a while for Scotland and that is so exciting to having it confirmed by someone else.
I am so looking forward to the adventure we are going to have with God, in a few of my dreams I had a real sense of acceleration and speed and God saying hang on to me because I am about to go faster and faster, our adventure together is about to get wilder. Can’t wait to see that happening while being content with what is here now!

I m really encouraged by this word, thanks for posting it Paul. Today I was having a pray with a friend who is wanting to get God’s heart for songwriting/recording he is doing at the minute and he prayed pretty much what you have written about music without actually having read your prophecy! He was quite shocked when I told him. And Rosita…..wow that was good girl…I can’t wait to see what God and you are going to get up to this year either!

Really encouraged by your word and insight coming through the signs of creation. Yes to hidden things coming out and valleys turning to places of pools! Yes to the end of the worship machine and a new song rising from our spirits as the people of God find their voices. Yes to the garden and all it stands for. Bless you for this – it has helped me so much today and put into words what I know but cannot articulate. I agree – let it be!

i had a dream..a man dressed as a rooster or(cockrel) poured petrol over my house and another man with him lit a match, the house went up in flames and i went out out the back door.i felt a bit gutted that id lost all my possessions….i climbed over a fence and into a garden with people sowing seeds,a bit communal.
God spoke to me after this dream, and said we are a self preservation society.WE live to preserve our own lives,we cant help it ,it is what the system we in live in promotes,we are slaves to it.But i belive god is going to create a way out of the system.

    Welcome to Perspectives...

    Why 3generations?

    Martin Scott

In May 1991, I gave a message that God was calling for the day when there would be 3 generations working together. God being the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Now is the time when I consider that we have to press in for this.

For more details on 3generations, wild-fire.

    Why '.eu'?

In the UK we are not very good Europeans. But this is the continent that we are part of, and the continent where we must see the shift take place of generations working together for a future. Formerly… For many years I had a web site wild-fire.co.uk: I named it that after receiving a vision in 1998 about fire breaking out in Wales. There is now tangible evidence that wild-fire is in the land.
